Since 1996, Silverweave has been developing and delivering programs for the local business community. These programs range from intimate corporate meetings to two and half day off-site conferences. The team is lead by Shayne Gilbert and Alyssa Stern.

Shayne Gilbert

Shayne Gilbert
Ms. Gilbert founded Silverweave, Inc. in 1994. Initially providing project management services that merged business objectives with technology advances, the company today delivers both analysis and program management services related to the growth of high technology and the life sciences in New England.

With industry colleagues, she created the first high level gathering for technology executives on Nantucket in 2000. The Nantucket Conference was followed by the launch of Future Forward: The New England Technology Summit in 2001, both operating under Future Forward Events LLC, a partnership of Silverweave. Convergence: The Life Sciences Leaders Forum was the third program to be introduced by Future Forward Events in 2004. The company also hosts dinner programs throughout the year for industry executives.

In addition to these programs, Ms. Gilbert delivers a quarterly analysis of the state of technology in New England through the Mass High Tech Pulse of Technology. In 2004, Ms. Gilbert helped analyze the state of the life sciences industry in Massachusetts and wrote the summary report, Mass Impact: An Upcoming Report on the Growth and Health of the Life Sciences Industry in Massachusetts, on behalf of MIT. Ms. Gilbert also helped write the executive summary, Engines of Economic Growth: The Economic Impact of Boston’s Eight Research Universities on the Metropolitan Boston Area, produced in 2003.

The author of 90 Days to Launch (Wiley, 2000), Ms. Gilbert’s work has been recognized in The Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe and Wired. Ms. Gilbert is a graduate of Wellesley College and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Ms. Gilbert lives in Boston with her husband and daughter.

Alyssa Stern

Alyssa Stern

Alyssa Stern is the Vice President of Future Forward Events, LLC where she manages three high level programs operated by the company. The Nantucket Conference, launched in 2000, delivers an exclusive program for executives and investors in the region’s emerging technology industries. Future Forward: The New England Technology Summit, introduced in 2001, brings together CIOs and other corporate technology influencers with the executives of emerging technology companies. Convergence: The Life Sciences Leaders Forum brings together executives and investors in the life sciences industry. 

Alyssa is also Vice President of Silverweave Inc. As a program management consultant, she has helped manage the launch of the MIT Biotech Forum for the last two years. The company also worked with the Deshpande Center on the 2006 Ideastream Symposium.

Prior to Future Forward Events and Silverweave, Alyssa worked at Hay/McBer, a human resources consulting firm, as Manager of New Products and Services. She has managed training events and conferences since 1996. Alyssa received both her undergraduate degree and Masters in Business Administration from Boston University.
